Flu and Covid vaccinations 2025

Our Flu clinics are now available for booking for eligible patients. Adult appointments are available via the NHS App, via the link sent with your text message invitation, or by calling the practice. Clinics are on various Saturdays during October and November at Blackthorn Health Centre and Hedge End Medical Centre. Pregnant ladies and children (all children aged 2-3, or any in an at-risk group age 4-17) will receive an invite for clinics on weekdays. If you do not have a mobile number on your patient record, we will try to contact you by email or letter to remind you to book.

Once the Saturday clinics are completed, we will also offer weekday appointments to eligible adults.

Please only book if you are in one of the at risk groups, as we will cancel any appointments that are not correctly booked. In particular, school age children who are not in one of the at-risk groups must access the vaccination through the school nursing team – we are not allowed to vaccinate this cohort. Note that the criteria for inclusion does change slightly every year, you can read more here: https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/flu-vaccine/

The eligibility cohort for Covid vaccination this season is much restricted, but if you are eligible for a Covid vaccination, we will offer this to you alongside your Flu vaccination. Read more about eligibility here: https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/covid-19-vaccine/

If you are housebound (and we are aware of this), we will be visiting in the first few weeks of October. If you are recently housebound, please let us know. If you have not had a visit by the end of October, you are welcome to contact us to enquire. We will try to contact patients prior to visiting.
