- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday during opening hours
When you get in touch our reception teams will need to ask you information about your medical request.
We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.
Routine GP appointments
To request a routine GP appointment in the next few weeks:

Nurse appointments
You can book appointments up to four weeks in advance to see a nurse. Some types of Nurse appointments are available to be booked online:
- phone us, Monday to Friday during opening hours
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday during opening hours
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) to book a screening test or vaccination
Blood tests can be booked at Southampton General Hospital by calling 023 8120 4877 or booking online at https://patientbooking.uhs.nhs.uk/.
We also offer appointments where appropriate with clinicians with extended roles, for example, Clinical Pharmacist, Musculoskeletal Practitioner (MSK), Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Mental Health Professional, Counsellor and others. These are also accessed through eConsult.

Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Although our core hours are 8am to 6.30pm, we may be able to offer an appointment in the evening or at weekends for certain requests.
Appointment may also be at the HEMC, BHC or UCC Site.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
To cancel your appointment:
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- phone us, Monday to Friday during opening hours
- reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
- if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
- if you need an interpreter
- if you have any other access or communication needs
Home visits
If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.
To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice before 10.30am.
A patient will be deemed to be housebound when they are unable to leave their home environment through physical and / or psychological illness.
An individual will not be eligible for a home visit if they are able to leave their home environment on their own or with assistance. For example, if an individual is able to be taken shopping or to the hairdressers, they will not be eligible for a home visit.
In addition, an individual would not be classed as housebound as a result of transport difficulties. You can contact one of our Good Neighbours Network to arrange transportation to and from medical appointments. The local Good Neighbours Network contact details are as follows:
